Ducommun has been a supplier to the aviation industry since planes first began flying, and Certified is proud to be a part of this great company.Job SummaryDesign and build tooling to meet CTP’s fabrication needsMaintain digital/electronic data.Program and operate CNC equipmentAnalyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed ratesEvaluates tool designs and coordinates with engineering for appropriate changes.Analyzes and designs machine holding fixtures for parts.Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.Prepares geometric layout using MasterCAM software to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.Writes instruction sheets, check sheets, and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.Write programs for multi- axis CNC milling machines / routers.Resolves CNC program and associated manufacturing issues with all relevant departments.Support manufacturing and other departments as an internal customer.Perform cost analysis and tradeoff improvement studies.Create operation sheets, tool drawings, and detail drawings.Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills and QualificationsExperience in the design, development and application of tools and production methods related to CNC MachiningAbility to manage numerous projects and meet deadlines as requiredAbility to work independently and a good memory for detailStrong analytical and communication skills and meticulous work habitsOvertime and weekend work as needed to support the CustomerRead and understand internal procedures and policiesUnderstand and follow through on both verbal and written instructionsTeam oriented with a continuous improvement outlookRequired Experience and EducationBS degree in Engineering; and/or related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.Up to Three years’ experience in a CNC machine shop environmentStrong CAD/CAM skillsKnowledge of aerospace company specifications and practicesTechnical writing skills preferredAbility to read and interpret engineering blueprintsTwo years’ experience Masterccam & SolidWorksMinimum 5-7 years progressive experience in quality management with supervisory experience, including military, where applicable, and commercial customersLicenses, Certifications, etc.N/ABase Compensation: USD 28.00 - 33.00 Paid SalariedEqual Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled26381 Ferry CtSanta Clarita, California, 91350United States
