Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN

Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician Apply nursing principles and age- and population‑specific standards according to care plans Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of residents’ status and provide needed care Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations Ensure residents’ health, comfort, and safety Contribute to resident assessments and administer ordered medications or treatments Provide technical support to healthcare professionals Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public Work as a member of an interdisciplinary care team Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates under clinical supervision on prevention and treatment plans Develop resident self‑care programs using resident education principles Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements 3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred) Minimum of 30 hours per month One weekend shift per month Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse Minimum of 18 years of age Pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience across the life span, or minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges Maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements If position requires IV therapy/management skills, North Dakota‑specific IV therapy education requirements apply Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in providing nursing care in long‑term care settings, applying age‑specific standards, and maintaining effective communication with residents and healthcare teams.
