About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required; cardiac PICU experience preferred. License: VA license pending will be accepted, provided a temporary license can be obtained before starting. Certifications: RRT certification, BLS, and NRP required. Must-Have: Level 4 NICU experience, comfort working in a multidisciplinary team, strong communication, and critical thinking skills. Description: Cross posting for job ID 3446741. Candidates must have experience in caring for patients in the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics. The role requires the ability to work in all units of a children's hospital. Interdisciplinary support is provided by respiratory services. The patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics. The unit is designed to address complex congenital heart conditions, including transplants and ECMO. Candidates must be competent in using specialized equipment, including Bunnell jet ventilators and HFOV. Scheduling is self-directed, but it does not guarantee a preferred schedule. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required, which includes two out of the three winter holidays. Candidates must be comfortable assisting in high-risk deliveries and managing various respiratory conditions. The work environment includes a pediatric emergency department and intensive care units. Special procedures and competency in a range of respiratory techniques are essential for success in this role.
