Join the team at L.L.Bean's Freeport, Maine Distribution Center . We're hiring temporary warehouse employees across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts to help support the busy holiday season.

Here is some basic info about our warehouse jobs:

    \n
  • \n

    Pay range is $18.00 - $25.00/hr., depending on position, shift, and rehire experience.  

    • \n
  • \n

    1st Shift Hours are between 6:30am-3:30pm.  Days of operation are Sunday–Friday, with potential for Saturday pick-up shifts according to business needs.

    • \n
  • \n

    2nd Shift Hours are between 4:00pm-1:00am.  Days of operation are Sunday–Thursday, with potential for Friday shifts according to business needs.

  • \n

    Minimum availability: Candidates must be available at least 18 hours per week (three 6-hour days)

    • \n
  • \n

    Maximum availability: potential for 40+ hours per week (actual hours worked are based on business need)

  • \n

    These are temporary roles that are expected to last through the holiday peak season and may continue through February 2027, depending on business needs.

Packing – Scan items out of totes, verify orders, generate outbound shipping documents, and pack orders.

Picking – Use a hand-held scanner and mobile task device, collect selected units into totes and transfer to conveyor belts.

    Physical demands- Walk /stand entire shift. Frequently lift up to 10lbs. Climb ladders and stairs to access upper shelves, crouching to access lower shelf. Weight limit for pick carts is 300-350lbs.

Pack Monogramming – Primary job is to safely operate a computerized monogramming machine used to personalize items for customers. May also be trained in Pack Seasonal job as needed per business conditions.

Material Handler – Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases, up to 50 lbs. Stack pallets and move workstation replenishment supplies. Ensure flow of work is constant, identify and respond to conveyor jams/work stoppages, and identify problem resolution cases.

Returns Processing - Read handwritten English or printed text instructions verifying type of return. Navigate through multiple computer systems and screens to process items back to inventory. Ability to quickly assess and determine how best to complete the return is critical.

Machine Operator – Safely and accurately perform various duties on an Order Picker machine including putting away, pulling, and stocking cases, retrieving individual orders, transferring totes to conveyor belts, and other related duties.

L.L.Bean uses a market-based compensation approach. The anticipated starting base pay for this position is $18.00 - $25.00. Individual compensation may vary based on factors such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, education, geographic location, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.\n
