Registered Nurse (RN) - Wound Care Location: Knapp Medical Center - Weslaco, TX Per Diem | Days | 8 - Hour Shifts The Wound Care RN will specialize in assessing and treating skin breakdown and wounds in a clinic setting. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will also be consulted during a patient’s stay in a hospital for a wound or pressure injury, and we are also consulted for ostomy care. The Wound Care RN will also be responsible for determining the proper course of treatment and interacting with services in the community to continually care for the wound care patient. Communicate with physicians, charge nurse, and co-workers, as appropriate regarding changes in the patient's treatment, clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies. Has the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Qualifications Education and Work Experience Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state. BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).
