Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients of all ages, utilizing standardized assessments and thoughtful observational techniques.
- Create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Implement focused speech therapy interventions addressing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues in one-on-one sessions.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members, to develop integrated care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families, empowering them to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, maintaining a seamless flow of care throughout the patient's journey.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation complying with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for diverse age groups, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to customize therapy approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Robust clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation compliance.
