Embark on a meaningful role impacting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity features a welcoming, peaceful K-6 environment, serving approximately 180 students. You’ll play a vital part within a close-knit team, supporting a caseload of 7-8 students in self-contained, multi-disability classrooms, primarily working with setting 2 & 3 students.
Enjoy a consistent schedule, working 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with your summers free after June 11, 2027. The school prides itself on a calm atmosphere with minimal behavioral challenges. The students largely experience cognitive or learning disabilities and autism, offering you a rewarding opportunity to apply your expertise in a focused and supportive setting.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Valid Tier 3 or 4 Minnesota Special Education Teacher licensure (required)
- Experience or passion for working within multi-disability, self-contained elementary settings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a student-centered approach
- Commitment to providing differentiated, individualized support for diverse learners
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Supporting a range of learning needs in small classroom settings
- Collaborating with related service providers, families, and general education staff
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies to foster growth
- Encouraging a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
This W2 hourly contract role includes a competitive hourly pay of $33–$38, comprehensive healthcare insurance, and a 401k option for your future financial security.
