Job Title: Production Operator Job Description

Join a dedicated production team responsible for filling fire extinguishers and preparing finished products for customers. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, performing hands-on tasks that support consistent, high-quality production and on-time order fulfillment during a regular daytime schedule.

Responsibilities

• Fill fire extinguishers according to established production procedures and quality standards.

• Assemble components and parts to create finished products ready for customer delivery.

• Perform general production and assembly tasks, including picking and packing orders.

• Package products securely to ensure they meet shipping and customer requirements.

• Handle manufacturing, production, and warehouse duties as assigned to support overall workflow.

• Assist with order preparation in the shipping area, including picking, packing, and staging products.

• Use hand tools safely and effectively as part of daily production activities.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both production and shipping spaces.

• Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and support team-based bonus opportunities.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience using hand tools in a production, manufacturing, or similar environment.

• At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

• Ability to perform production, assembly, and general labor tasks safely and efficiently.

• Experience with picking and packing orders in a warehouse or production setting.

• Capability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.

• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate filling, assembly, and packaging.

• Reliability to work a consistent 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a shipping or production area within manufacturing.

• Familiarity with general labor tasks such as packaging, order picking, and packing.

• Comfort working in both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled areas.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and support shared goals.

• Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing production needs.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and shipping facility with both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled areas. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in a climate-controlled environment and about 20% of your time in a non-climate-controlled shipping area. The standard schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime work routine. The work involves hands-on production, assembly, and packaging tasks, using hand tools and working around manufacturing and warehouse equipment in a busy, team-focused setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hazelwood, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
