Maintenance MechanicThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts bearings, forklifts, wheel loaders tractors and trailers. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently.Benefits include paid parental leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, HSA/FSA, paid time off, employee assistance program, 401k matching, and tuition reimbursement.Responsibilities include performing repairs in accordance with company safety and OSHA requirements, performing preventive maintenance inspection (PM), diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding major equipment/components, establishing and adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules, inspecting the quality of third-party repairs and or rebuilds, recommending measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality, safely operating tools and equipment needed during the repair and servicing of equipment, diagnosing defects and repairing a variety of equipment and vehicles, estimating time and materials required to perform major repairs, performing service calls for emergency breakdowns, maintaining a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate/OSHA standards, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.Minimum job qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and three or more years of mechanical experience. Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends to support operations and the needs of the facility.Working conditions and physical requirements include normal work environment is a recycling plant, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE. Required to use motor coordination with arms, hands, fingers, and legs. Required to engage in physical activity that includes pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting objects more than 80 pounds. Required to work from ladders or raised platforms. Required to stand or work on concrete floors most of the workday. Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
