Senior Assistant Golf Professional

Overview The Senior Assistant Golf Professional will oversee and manage the golf operation, merchandising, lesson curriculum, tournaments, and work cooperatively with other departments at The Woodlands Country Club, Palmer Course. This role promotes an exceptional golf experience and provides excellent services and programs to all patrons. Responsibilities Supervise and direct other golf professionals and all golf operations employees. Act as lead assistant professional and role model for all employees. Ensure the highest level of services for members. Assist the Head Golf Professional with operational needs, financial targets, and plans. Oversee all daily operations including golf operations and merchandise concessions. Promote and operate the facility to drive revenue. Lead training, supervising and motivating staff to meet facility objectives, especially in providing exceptional customer service. Oversee the reservation system and monitor play. Track and verify all players and guests, golf cars, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges, facilitating proper controls. Assist in player development programs using PGA tools and resources. Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage. Develop and manage an innovative tournament program that services all customer segments. Assist in marketing and promotion of new memberships and play. Assist in budgeting, including forecasting and reviewing all golf revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Establish sales goals and forecasts for all golf programs and services; monitor and analyze reports. Assist with ordering, receiving, invoicing, and merchandising of golf equipment. Assist with the preparation of golf tournament outings using Golf Genius. Assist with the tracking, maintenance, receiving, and returning of leased rental clubs. Responsibly maintain the club’s USGA Handicap System Service. Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Qualifications Minimum of two years of college or equivalent experience. Experience in staff supervision, golf instruction, customer service, and computer technology including POS. Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification. Actively pursue PGA membership (for a PGA Apprentice) through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) program. Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations. Fundamental supervisory practices and principles.
