On-Call Round Cook

Casa Esperanza Inc. is seeking an On-Call Round Cook to cover holidays, vacations, and unexpected call-outs. The On-Call Round Cook role is a per diem position. Typical hours are 6am-2pm depending on program needs. Hours are not guaranteed. The On-Call Round Cook plans and prepares three healthy meals per day for approximately 75 individuals. They also ensure that a variety of healthy snacks are available to residents throughout the day. It requires weekly availability from Sunday through Saturday, including holidays, from 6am to 2pm.

What You'll Do:

• Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods.
• Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
• Ability to organize and coordinate the purchase of food, supplies, and equipment needed to prepare 3 meals per day and make healthy snacks available for up to 75 individuals.
• Ability to safely use all kitchen equipment and supplies.
• Ability to accept receipt of goods and supplies.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to manage others in a kitchen environment, ensuring safety and quality meal preparation.

Education/Training Required:

• At least 2 years of food preparation and kitchen management experience, preparing meals for 75+ guests per meal.
• SERV Safe certified or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Experience preparing Latin American cuisine is required.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Participates in regular training with regard to nutrition and healthy meal preparation

Schedule:

As needed, weekly availability between Sunday and Saturday, including holidays

6am to 2pm

Physical & Mental Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
