Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - Louisiana Childrens Medical Center Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - Louisiana Childrens Medical Center Health System.

Additional Details:

You must be willing to float, work weekends, and generally just be very flexible. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: - Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias and telemetry. - Post-surgical unit experience caring for post-surgical patients.

Special Requests: - RTO <5 days or add time to end of the contract.

Unit Details: - 1:6 ratio (1:4 if cardiac drip). - Adult and geriatric patient population. - Cares for diabetes, renal insufficiency, some overnight ortho, vascular insufficiency, wound, and post-surgical patients; backup for the stroke unit. - Uses Alaris pumps and Vital Sync monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: - Alternating 3x12s and 4x12s every other week, or straight 4x12s. - Every other weekend. - No call. - Work at least 2 of 3 holidays.

4 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
