Capital Needs Coordinator

Only available to current Parks employees. Responsibilities Develop new modules, workflows and data tools, maintain and enhance existing models and applications under the direction of the Director of Capital Planning. Analyze internal and external data sources (e.g., AMPS, DWH, NYC OpenData) to generate insights into capital needs. Review complex spreadsheets to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Support and enhance team processes, documentation and best practices for data analysis. Assess and identify gaps in existing processes and recommend key process improvements. Represent the Division in interdepartmental working groups and collaborate on cross‑functional initiatives. Work Location: Olmsted Center, Queens Minimum Qualifications A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or Education and/or experience equivalent to either of the above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in item 1 above. Preferred Skills Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software and other agency software platforms. Proven quantitative and analytical skills, with experience working with large and varied data sets. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Python scripting and relational database management (SQL). Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical data and the results of complex analysis clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
