About the Role

Burke Sporting Goods is looking for a Business Development & Sales Representative to help grow our business beyond our established school and athletics customer base.

We’ve built a strong business serving local elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, teams, and organizations. Now, we’re looking for someone who can help us expand our corporate and commercial customer base by developing relationships with local businesses and bringing in new accounts.

When we say “corporate,” we mean more than large companies. Your prospects could include landscapers, plumbers, local businesses, organizations, and companies of all sizes that need branded apparel, uniforms, promotional products, or merchandise.

This is a new-business-focused sales role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable going out, building relationships, and developing a book of business.

What You’ll Do

Your primary focus will be developing new relationships and bringing new customers to Burke Sporting Goods.

• Prospect and identify new business opportunities
• Develop relationships with local businesses and organizations
• Build and manage your own book of business
• Introduce customers to Burke Sporting Goods’ capabilities
• Identify apparel, uniform, promotional product, and merchandise needs
• Turn new relationships into repeat customers
• Maintain and grow accounts as their needs evolve

What You’ll Be Selling

Burke Sporting Goods provides customers with a broad range of decorated apparel and promotional solutions, including:

• Screen printing
• Embroidery
• Heat press
• Digital transfer
• Corporate apparel
• T-shirts and spirit wear
• Promotional products

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who understands this industry and can speak confidently with customers about their needs.

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience with screen printing, embroidery, decorated apparel, promotional products, or a closely related industry
• An understanding of apparel and common industry vendors
• The ability to prospect and develop new customer relationships
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The confidence to create new business rather than wait for opportunities to come in
• The ability to manage and grow a book of business
• A self-motivated, entrepreneurial approach to sales

Base Salary: $45,000–$50,000 + Commission

Commission is tied to the profitability and margins of the business you bring in.

About Burke Sporting Goods

Burke Sporting Goods has evolved from its sporting goods roots into a business focused heavily on screen printing, embroidery, apparel decoration, and promotional products.

We operate a brick-and-mortar storefront in Burke along with our production facility in Fairfax, where our apparel production is handled. We are looking to expand our business with a strong salesperson at the forefront.
