Job Overview Outpatient Therapist – Bachelor’s/Master’s Level (Mental Health Worker) Program(s): Outpatient Clinic/School Based Mental Health Location: Pennsylvania Reports To: Clinical Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary This position is responsible for the provision of individual and family therapy sessions for consumers assigned to each caseload and ensures completion of required clinical documentation related to individual caseloads in a timely manner. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Demonstrates proficiency with assessment skills by completing psychosocial assessments at intake and ongoing intervals as outlined by program requirements, and completing standardized assessments and/or outcome‑based measures. Develops individualized treatment plans by adhering to applicable county, state, and federal standard regulations when developing individualized treatment plans for consumers. Provides therapy to consumers in individually recommended settings, adhering to recommendations outlined in individual consumer treatment plans. Provides treatment of the whole person by collaborating with all team members involved with the consumer. Evaluates individualized consumer‑driven treatment plan reviews by completing ongoing efficacy evaluations through development of treatment plan reviews. Develops transition and discharge planning by evaluating recovery and progress through treatment goals and symptomology. Completes all required clinical documentation by completing progress notes per service, including necessary signatures, discharge summaries, incident reports, and treatment reviews via electronic health record system. Responds to emergency/crisis situations with team members and consumers by ensuring their safety and utilizing de‑escalation skills when needed. Maintains assigned, planned schedule by following program guidelines to ensure regular service provision and maintenance of caseload per agreement with program supervisor. Manages and supports coordination of care through routine conversations and referrals when needed (e.g., natural supports identified by the consumer, outside referrals, PCPs, school districts). Maintains a commitment to professional development by participating in ongoing supervision, training, and department and team meetings, as outlined by policies and procedures. Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures by interacting professionally, ethically, and respectfully with consumers, other team members, family members, and coworkers at all times, following policy and procedure and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Supports ongoing and future business needs by completing other duties, as assigned, to effectively support business priorities and processes. Other Duties Designated duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Physical Demands May be required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, move around within homes, schools, communities, clinics or program office environments, operate a computer and other office machinery, occasionally ascend/descend stairs, position self in proximity to consumers, frequently communicate with consumers, employees and team members, recognize and determine pertinent data, transport resources and materials, and may be exposed to a variety of work settings. Work Environment Work occurs in home, school, community, outpatient clinic environments as outlined in individual consumer treatment plans. Travel Up to 100% of travel between appointment sites or other locations as outlined in program requirements. Requirements Required Education And/Or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, nursing, rehabilitation or activity program, or a graduate degree in a clinical discipline with 12 graduate level credits in mental health or counseling. Preferred Education And Experience: At least 1 year of experience with either a CASSP service system, or employment by a licensed mental health services agency, or subcontracted agency, or other mental health clinicians with training in behavioral modification techniques. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None required. Qualifications Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and instructions; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints; explain instructions clearly in both written and oral media. Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; use of MS Excel to aid in mathematical work. Reasoning Ability: Must be able to make sound decisions to support consumers calmly and timely; utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities based on consumer needs; react quickly to prevent consumer injury or injury to others. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Proficiency in use of electronic health system. Proficiency in completion of psychological assessments. Ability to work as a team member. Organizational skills.
