Job Description The Body Shop Estimator examines damaged vehicles for dents, scratches, broken glass, and other areas requiring repair, replacement, or repainting. They estimate the cost of repairing damaged automobile and truck bodies, on basis of visual inspection of vehicle and familiarity with standard parts, costs, and labor rates. The ideal candidate has some post-secondary automotive training and at least two years of dealer-level or large facility experience. They have an unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record and a strong technical and customer service performance record. Computer skills are required. A certification or designation in the field of automotive repair is a plus. Responsibilities Estimates the cost of repairing damaged vehicles, on the basis of a visual inspection and familiarity with parts, costs, and labor rates.
