Service Technician – Austin, TX Job Summary The Service Technician is the front‑line partner with riders, delivering expert service, fostering satisfaction, and supporting retail sales and profitability. Responsibilities Connect with riders, ask qualifying questions, listen, and recommend options from the service menu or a la carte. Speak authoritatively on technical matters related to Specialized bicycles. Provide courteous, “wow” customer service while completing service orders and scheduling repairs. Advise customers on selections without bias, maintaining up‑to‑date product knowledge. Assist with bike sales through technical consulting and other floor duties as needed. Ensure high levels of rider satisfaction and support ongoing service relationships. Maintain cleanliness standards at shop opening, during the day, and at close. Operate Lightspeed point of sale and store operational websites efficiently. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. Qualifications Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand. Previous bike shop or bike mechanic experience (preferred). Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with riders and teammates. Willingness to work weekends as required by business needs. Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, or reach for extended periods. Capability to lift 50lbs or more using proper technique.
