PURPOSE 

The Clinical Director, ABA Services is responsible for the clinical leadership, quality assurance, recruitment, supervision, and development of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services throughout Rise Pediatric Therapies' Arizona clinics. The Clinical Director oversees Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and other clinical team members while ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, ethical service delivery, and an outstanding experience for children and families. 

The Clinical Director also serves as a key leader in community outreach, referral development, and strategic growth initiatives, building partnerships with physicians, schools, community organizations, universities, and other referral sources.

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

• Ensure clinical operations comply with BACB Ethics Code, Arizona regulations, Medicaid requirements, commercial insurance requirements, and organizational policies. 
• Maintain regulatory and payer compliance to ensure the highest level of quality care and positive client outcomes. 
• Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that improve clinical quality, operational efficiency, and service delivery. 
• Ensure clinic environments are safe, therapeutic, and appropriate for pediatric ABA services. 
• Ensure compliance with funding source contracts and authorization requirements. 
• Communicate organizational initiatives, policies, and procedural changes to clinical staff. 
• Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvements that enhance the family experience. 
• Lead clinical quality assurance and utilization review activities. 
• Support business growth through clinical leadership, operational excellence, and community engagement. 
• Maintain a limited caseload while providing clinical consultation and oversight. 
• Collaborate with executive leadership to establish clinical goals, strategic initiatives, and performance expectations. 

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide positive leadership and team building based on respect, accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence. 
• Recruit, hire, onboard, mentor, and retain BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs, and clinical support staff. 
• Ensure staffing levels and scheduling support quality clinical care and operational efficiency. 
• Monitor staff productivity, performance, utilization, and professional development. 
• Conduct performance evaluations in a timely and constructive manner. 
• Provide coaching, corrective action, and performance improvement plans as necessary. 
• Handle employee disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy. 
• Develop future leaders within the organization through mentorship and succession planning. 
• Partner with leadership teams to improve systems, processes, financial performance, service delivery, and administrative operations. 
• Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments and locations. 
• Reinforce organizational values, brand standards, and best practices. 

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide oversight of all ABA clinical programming across assigned Arizona clinics. 
• Maintain a caseload and direct clinical responsibilities as assigned, balancing approximately 50% clinical supervision and 50% leadership responsibilities, with adjustments based on organizational growth and staffing needs. 
• Review and approve assessments, treatment plans, behavior intervention plans, progress reports, and discharge recommendations. 
• Ensure individualized treatment plans are clinically appropriate and supported by data-driven decision making. 
• Supervise and mentor BCBAs, BCaBAs, and RBTs in accordance with BACB requirements. 
• Monitor clinical outcomes, treatment effectiveness, and client progress. 
• Ensure fidelity of treatment implementation and consistency across programs. 
• Ensure all documentation meets organizational, payer, regulatory, and auditing requirements. 
• Provide consultation on complex clinical cases and behavioral challenges. 
• Lead clinical case reviews, peer review activities, and quality assurance initiatives. 
• Promote evidence-based ABA practices throughout the organization. 

OUTREACH AND DEVELOPMENT 

• Develop relationships with pediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, schools, hospitals, and community organizations. 
• Maintain relationships with existing referral sources and community partners. 
• Establish partnerships with universities and behavior analytic training programs to support staff recruitment. 
• Develop and implement outreach strategies that increase community awareness and program growth. 
• Represent Rise Pediatric Therapies at conferences, community events, networking opportunities, and professional organizations. 
• Support marketing and growth initiatives through clinical expertise and community engagement. 
• Collaborate with leadership on business development opportunities throughout Arizona. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required 

• Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Behavioral Science, or a related field. 
• Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing. 
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing ABA services to children with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities. 
• Minimum of two (2) years of leadership, supervision, or management experience. 
• Experience supervising BCBAs, BCaBAs, and/or Registered Behavior Technicians. 
• Thorough understanding of ABA principles, behavior analytic assessment, treatment planning, and intervention. 
• Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance requirements related to ABA services. 
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to analyze clinical metrics and achieve organizational goals. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems. 

Preferred 

• Multi-site clinic leadership experience. 
• Experience leading startup or high-growth ABA programs. 
• Experience with Arizona Medicaid ABA programs and managed care organizations. 
• Experience with accreditation, quality assurance, and payer audits. 
• Experience in recruitment, workforce development, and clinical training. 
• Bilingual abilities are a plus. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Conduct or oversee comprehensive behavioral assessments, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), skills assessments, and related evaluations. 
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals based on assessment findings and family priorities. 
• Ensure treatment recommendations support medical necessity and align with payer requirements. 
• Provide clinical supervision and oversight consistent with BACB standards. 
• Monitor client progress through ongoing data collection, analysis, and treatment modifications. 
• Ensure treatment goals remain clinically appropriate and outcome-focused. 
• Train and mentor clinical staff in evidence-based ABA interventions. 
• Collaborate with caregivers to promote skill generalization and successful carryover across environments. 
• Coordinate care with physicians, psychologists, therapists, educators, and community providers as appropriate. 
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, supervision notes, parent training documentation, progress reports, discharge summaries, and authorization requests. 
• Ensure documentation supports medical necessity, treatment effectiveness, and reimbursement requirements. 
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, treatment reviews, strategic planning sessions, and leadership meetings. 
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education and adherence to ethical standards. 
• Ensure compliance with BACB ethics requirements, HIPAA regulations, Arizona laws and regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies. 
• Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals and clinical excellence. 

EQUIPMENT NORMALLY USED 

• Computer, telephone, printer, scanner, and other standard office equipment. 
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and clinical software. 
• Vehicle for travel to clinic locations, schools, community events, and meetings as needed. 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION 

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and move throughout the workday. 
• Ability to lift, carry, or assist children and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as necessary. 
• Ability to actively participate in play-based and floor-based therapeutic activities with children. 
• Ability to safely implement behavior intervention procedures, including responding to challenging behaviors when necessary. 
• Visual, auditory, and manual dexterity sufficient to provide supervision, conduct assessments, review documentation, and perform work-related responsibilities. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
