Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) nurse opportunity is available in Springfield, Illinois. This position entails providing specialized perioperative care for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures within a Level I trauma acute care hospital. The role offers a challenging and rewarding environment for experienced OR nurses with a focus on open-heart surgeries.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, starting from 09/21/2026.
• Required Qualifications: 3 years of solid clinical experience in operating room settings, preferably with trauma or thoracic experience, actively licensed in Illinois or in application process, BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiovascular surgeries such as Aortic Aneurysm repair, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, TAVR, and other advanced cardiovascular procedures; proficiency in Endoscopic procedures like Bronchoscopy and Peg tube placement; familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be flexible to on-call duties, including 1-2 nights a week and alternating weekends. RTO restrictions are ideally no more than 5 days, with a patient census of 10 daily and 4 beds/rooms. Floats within scope and block scheduling are discussed with management. All candidates must complete required modules, including clinical and non-clinical, prior to start, with the first day being a virtual orientation.
