Job DescriptionJob description\nA physician-owned OB/GYN practice is building the in-house hospitalist program at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. The hospital is in the final stages of completing construction of a brand-new facility with brand-new labor and delivery, postpartum and NICU units.\n\nOur team is hiring the founding group of hospitalists to staff the program.\n\nWe are offering two tracks for the founding group of hospitalists to staff the program and we invite you to choose the one that fits your life best.\n\nTrack 1 — Pure Laborist12 or 24-hour in-house shifts. No clinic and no patient panel to carry home - you work your shifts and you're done. Ideal for physicians who want a defined schedule, concentrated blocks of time off, and the ability to live wherever they want between shifts.\n\nTrack 2 — Hybrid Hospitalist/ Clinical PracticeIn-house hospitalist shifts combined with outpatient clinic days at one of our OB/GYN offices in the greater Los Angeles area. Partners will also have a surgical day at minimum every other week. This track is designed for physicians who want continuity with their own patients and a steady OR schedule alongside the predictability and income floor of shift work. Surgical volume and clinic days can be scaled up for the right candidate.\nResponsibilities\n\n In-house coverage of labor and delivery, triage, and OB emergencies for the full shift\n Management of laboring patients, vaginal and operative deliveries, and cesarean sections\n Response to obstetric emergencies, OB rapid response, and unassigned/walk-in obstetric patients\n Coverage and back-up for community physicians' patients per program protocol\n Collaboration with nursing, anesthesia, and neonatology on unit protocols and patient safety initiatives\n Participation in building the culture and clinical standards of a new unit from day one\n\nRequirements\n\n MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology\n Active California medical license (or eligible and willing to obtain), DEA\n Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP - or willingness to get certified.\n Eligible for medical staff privileges at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center\n Comfort managing high-acuity obstetric emergencies independently and operating without in-house backup\n For the hybrid track: current gynecologic surgical skills and interest in maintaining an outpatient panel\n\nCompensation & Benefits\n\n Competitive shift reimbursement in line with the Los Angeles market\n Productivity bonus available\n Malpractice coverage with tail / occurrence-based policy provided\n Health, dental, vision, retirement — if W-2\n Sign-on bonus / relocation allowance\n CME allowance and license/DEA reimbursement\n Predictable, self-scheduled block schedule with the flexibility to trade shifts within the group\n\nWhy This Role\n\n Brand-new hospital building, brand-new labor and delivery unit — you would be able to help shape how it is run\n Physician-owned and physician-led program; you'll be working for an OB/GYN, not a national staffing corporation\n Ground-floor group with room to grow into leadership as the program scales\n Los Angeles location with access to the South Bay and coastal communities\n\nTo ApplySend CV to ownerJamie Lipeles - View email address on click.appcast.io.
