Branch Location Seton Branch 4801 Seton Drive Baltimore, MD Includes Saturdays Position Summary The Member Service Representative (MSR) acts as the liaison for the credit union to maintain member loyalty by efficiently meeting the needs or requests of members. The role includes providing accurate account information, explaining credit union products and services, opening new accounts, resolving issues, and handling transactional services for deposit and loan products. The MSR also identifies additional financial service needs and promotes relevant products and services. Responsibilities Provide accurate account information and assist members with routine account-related requests such as funds transfers, automatic funds transfers, stop payments, and inquiries about bank deposit products. Open new accounts, resolve issues, and professionally handle member inquiries face-to-face. Offer a variety of transactional services for members’ deposit and loan accounts. Identify and promote additional financial service needs to members. Assist with teller functions (for MSR II) and conduct on-the-job training for MSR I. Required Skills Cross-sell products and services based on member needs and credit union standards. Active listening skills and the ability to focus on members’ thoughts, opinions, feelings and needs. Dependability: meet commitments, arrive on time, and prepare for meetings. Quality of work: accuracy, attention to detail, and high standards. Adherence to BSA, the Privacy Act, and Elder Abuse reporting requirements. Proficient written and oral communication skills. Participation in Business Development activities. Education High School Diploma (general studies) – Required General Educational Development (GED) – In lieu of H.S. Diploma Experience Member Service Representative I – Twelve (12) months Sales/Teller/Member Service Experience – Required Member Service Representative I – Twelve (12) months Financial Services Background – Preferred Member Service Representative II – Eighteen (18) months Financial Services Background – Preferred Additional Experience and Qualifications Proficiency in the lending process, including input, funding, and maintenance. Assist with lending up to and including input of funding and maintenance of loans. Participation in Business Development activities – Required Additional Requirements There may be circumstances related to MECU business operations that may periodically require you to report to a different branch/work location.
