Kindly Direct Care is hiring a caring, dependable Companion for an Adult with Support Need to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in North Cape May, NJ.

About This Opportunity

• This role is a good fit for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in a few hours each week. The position provides focused, one-to-one support with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care, while leaving room for school, another job, or other commitments. Consistency matters: although the hours may be limited, the individual and family rely on the DSP to keep the agreed schedule.

• The individual needs support with ADLs and personal care and has behaviors. A patient, dependable DSP who can follow individualized support instructions and respond calmly and respectfully will be important in this role.

What You’ll Do

• Provide one-to-one, person-centered support with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care, as required by the individual’s needs and service plan.

• Offer routine support, reminders, and hands-on assistance with personal care tasks as specified in the individualized support instructions.

• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills wherever appropriate.

• Support the individual in working toward goals identified in the service plan.

• Maintain safety, respond calmly to behaviors, and follow individualized support instructions and training.

• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.

• Comfortable providing one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities, including ADL and personal care assistance, in the setting required by the case.

• Able to follow individualized guidance for supporting the individual’s behaviors and maintaining safety.

• Valid driver’s license and vehicle.

• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but not required for this assignment.

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday, 12 pm–4 pm

Pay: $17–$21/hour

Location: North Cape May, NJ

Driving on shift: Required
