As a Senior Project Manager on the Corporate Surveillance team, you will bridge the gap between regulatory necessity and cutting-edge technology, ensuring our capital markets clients remain compliant in an increasingly scrutinized global market. What you should bring to the role: Fixed Income and Derivatives Markets/Product Subject Matter Expertise: Direct the product lifecycle for surveillance tools monitoring email, chat (Bloomberg, Slack, Teams), and voice, ensuring robust detection of market abuse and conduct risk. Regulatory & Legal Interface: Act as the primary technical lead for high-stakes presentations to external legal counsel and regulatory bodies, articulating product logic and defensibility with absolute professionalism. Vendor Management: Triage issues as they arise and assist in coordinating vendor enhancements/upgrades Precision Documentation: Own the creation of exhaustive functional specifications, logic workflows, and business requirements documents (BRDs) that translate nuanced compliance requirements into clear engineering blueprints. Operational Excellence: Demonstrate elite organizational skills by managing complex roadmaps, competing stakeholder priorities, and rigorous audit trails without missing a beat. Strategic Compliance Vision: Partner with internal legal and risk teams to anticipate shifting global regulations, ensuring our surveillance engine remains ahead of the curve. General Responsibilities Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports. Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time. Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments Leading a team of project managers Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment. Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience At least 8 Years of Project or Process Management experience At least 1 Year of People Management experience Preferred Qualifications Masters degree 10+ years of Project or Process Management experience 3+ years of People Management experience 5+ years of Risk Management experience 2+ years of experience working within a regulated industry At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Richmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr Manager, Project ManagementMcLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr Manager, Project ManagementNew York, NY: $193,800 - $221,200 for Sr Manager, Project Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
