Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

We are hiring a per diem Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our care team at Athena Hospice of Rhode Island. This is an on-the-road position covering the entire state of Rhode Island. Candidate must be willing to travel and have an insured and reliable vehicle, and a valid driver's license. $22 to $24 an hour with weekly pay.

You perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet their personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.

Experience & Education:

• Must hold an active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in this state.
• At least one year of experience as a CNA.

Duties:

• Perform personal care needs for assigned patients, including bathing, dressing, undressing, and feeding
• Assist with oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linens as needed
• Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
• Provide proper care and observation of the patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominences
• Meet the safety needs of the patient and use equipment safely and properly
• Assist with ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist
• Provide a normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed
• Offer and assist with bedpans and urinals, and help with light laundry needs
