Weatherization Inspector

Job Title Weatherization Inspector Program Weatherization Supervisor Weatherization Manager Employment Status Technical, Non-Exempt Salary $21.58 – $25.68 per hour Job Summary Conducts energy audits and inspections on homes to identify and verify the proper installation and effectiveness of weatherization measures. Responsibilities Obtain and maintain all required certifications. Conduct energy audits per funding requirements. Conduct quality control inspections per funding requirements. Meet all production requirements within assigned programs. Complete all inspections for the Home Rehab/Repair Program. Provide monitoring and technical assistance to contractors. Maintain current client files and input data into program-specific software; provide client data for reporting purposes. Collaborate with external monitors to ensure compliance and quality; maintain accurate documentation; participate in reviews; respond to findings with corrective actions and use feedback for continuous improvement. Provide in‑home client education as required by program guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned. Effectively communicate with staff, clients, partners, and the public in a tactful, sensitive, respectful manner; demonstrate active listening; maintain friendly, positive attitude; write clear, concise, accurate communications; keep team members informed and follow appropriate channels. Maintain confidentiality of client and organizational information; share information only with authorized personnel. Continually improve skills through internal/external opportunities focused on improvement goals; improve outcomes of assessments, client outcomes, and organizational goals; attend training opportunities as available. Understand and comply with current organization, regulatory, and funding policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency; some college or technical education preferred. Building inspector and residential construction knowledge preferred. Energy Auditor Certification required. Quality Control Inspector Certification required. Physically able to inspect all areas of a housing unit (attics, roof, crawl spaces). Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. Experience working with low‑income individuals. Valid Michigan driver’s license.
