FFSP Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocate (SAPR VA)

Overview Serve as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA) within Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), Fleet and Family Readiness (N9), Family Readiness Fleet & Family Support (N91). The primary purpose of the position is to be the first point of contact for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment and to work closely with the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) to ensure comprehensive care throughout the reporting process. Responsibilities Victim Advocacy/Support (75%) – Facilitate care and provide non-clinical support to adult victims, work the 24/7 SAPR watch, assess safety, explain reporting options, conduct risk assessments, provide crisis intervention, coordinate legal and medical referrals, accompany victims to appointments, and maintain ongoing support. Program Support & Training (25%) – Collaborate with the SARC to identify resources, establish local liaisons, maintain a resource binder, develop public‑awareness campaigns, and facilitate or assist in scheduling and delivering sexual‑harassment training for all installation personnel and key stakeholders. Attend sexual assault CMG meetings, report incident details to the SARC, and consult regularly to ensure comprehensive care. Conditions of Employment A valid State driver’s license. Successful completion of an E‑Verify employment verification check. Meet federal suitability requirements, including a Secret Security Clearance (T3). Upon hire, complete, obtain, and maintain Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D‑SAACP) certification. Failure to meet any pre‑employment requirements may result in rescission of a tentative offer. Qualifications Knowledge of primary prevention principles, sexual assault dynamics, and local social‑services delivery systems. Knowledge of sociological and social‑work concepts related to victim advocacy and sexual‑harassment prevention. Trauma‑informed care approach and ability to work in crisis situations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and FFSMIS for data entry, reporting, and documentation. Skill in virtual video‑conferencing and training platform use for presenting and delivering training. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of staff, law‑enforcement, medical, and legal agencies. Ability to evaluate and measure training effectiveness using standard evaluation methods. Education Either A four‑year degree in behavioral health, social science, or criminal justice; Four years of experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge, or An appropriate combination of education and experience plus four years of specialized experience with sexual assault and/or domestic violence/abuse.
