Job Description The University of Missouri‑Kansas City School of Pharmacy seeks to hire up to two highly motivated individuals for assistant professor positions in the Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The positions are 12‑month, full‑time, ranked, tenure‑track positions located on the UMKC Hospital Hill campus in the vibrant Health Sciences District at the center of Kansas City, MO. The successful candidate will have a track record of accomplishment in teaching and scholarship that complements the existing strengths of the Division. We seek candidates focused on scholarship in health problems that affect Missourians, including infectious diseases, cancers, and neurodegenerative disorders. In support of this mission, the School of Pharmacy hosts a state‑of‑the‑art LC‑MS/MS facility which is managed as an open‑access resource. Numerous other shared resources are available within the department and within UMKC, including a proteomics facility in the School of Medicine and a confocal microscope facility in the School of Dentistry, both adjacent to the School of Pharmacy. A fully accredited animal research facility is on campus along with animal behavior instruments. The University of Missouri also hosts a high‑performance computing cluster which includes computationally aided drug discovery software packages. In addition to initiating and maintaining a nationally recognized research program, the successful candidate would be expected to teach in both our PhD graduate program and in the basic science curriculum for our professional pharmacist (PharmD) training program. The School of Pharmacy has sites in Springfield and Columbia, MO and our Kansas City home. We expect that the successful applicant will be able to mentor students in our PhD program and assist teaching our certificate program, as well. The program has a track record of fostering faculty with innovative, translational research that will make a difference in patients' lives. The Health Sciences District comprises the health profession schools at UMKC (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Health Studies, and Pharmacy) in addition to two hospitals, and the environment is highly conducive to collaborative research. UMKC hosts the Data Science and Analytics Innovation Center in partnership with the UM System Precision Health Initiative, which empowers large‑scale data analysis. We are dedicated to the career development of our faculty members. The successful applicant will receive extensive mentoring, have opportunities to acquire new research skills, and will be provided support to pursue grant applications. Qualifications PhD, MD/DO, and/or PharmD with teaching experience in a relevant field. 2+ years of postdoctoral training or equivalent experience. Primary research publications in high‑impact scientific journals. Ability to maintain an extramurally funded research program. Preferred Qualifications Experience and/or training in teaching and mentorship in higher education.
