Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients of all ages, utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational insights.
- Create tailored treatment plans targeting immediate goals as well as ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Implement individualized speech therapy interventions that focus on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice production, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Provide inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions when needed, ensuring seamless care throughout the therapeutic journey.
- Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner, following state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Engage in ongoing professional development by staying informed of the latest advancements in the field through continued education and networking with peers.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), unless already certified by ASHA.
- A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferably, a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of commencing employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for a diverse clientele, demonstrating a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Ability to modify therapeutic approaches to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Adept at managing electronic medical records and keeping compliance with documentation standards.
