Complex Business Sales Manager

Complex Business Transient Sales Manager The Complex Business Transient Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in the designated market segments. The position requires knowledge of GDS systems, pseudocity codes and reporting, as well as month‑end reporting and tracking of account production. Responsibilities Attend and be prepared for daily Highgate Hotel Business Review (HHBR) meetings Develop a full working knowledge of the hotel’s operations, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs, and ensure adherence by the sales team Meet or exceed set goals Operate the Sales Department within the established sales expense budget Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled Initiate and follow up on leads Maintain an active sales solicitation program Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate market trends Maintain and develop local negotiated accounts and new accounts within the market Contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the Account Coverage Program Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Area Vice President of Sales & Marketing Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and property tours Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, such as parties and sales blitzes Prepare required reports in a timely manner Be familiar with all Highgate Hotel sales policies and selling techniques, emphasizing maximization of occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR) Conduct a professional, thorough property inspection with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property Use the property’s computerized sales management system to manage business, generate reports, enter business, block space and build accounts Meet and greet onsite contacts Work closely with the brand Global Sales Office (GSO) Develop networking opportunities through participation in community and professional associations, activities and events Entertain clients Travel as required Qualifications Education & Experience: At least 3 years of progressive hotel sales experience Valid driver’s license in the applicable state Knowledge and ability to analyze reports; experience with Lighthouse, Amadeus, Marriott MarRFP and MINT preferred Experience with Marriott Consolidated Inventory System “CI” is a plus Physical Requirements: Long hours sometimes required Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects General Requirements: Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests at all levels, in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service‑oriented manner Strong listening, understanding and clarifying skills to address concerns raised by employees and guests Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service‑oriented manner Attend all hotel‑required meetings and trainings Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations Maximize productivity, identify problem areas and help implement solutions Handle problems proactively, anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving them as necessary Understand and evaluate complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives Maintain confidentiality of information Perform other duties as requested by management Highgate Hotels is an equal opportunity employer.
