Director Of NursingThe Director of Nursing is responsible for evaluating and improving the quality of nursing care, supervising the nursing department, and managing nursing resources. Provides feedback and support for professional development.Promotes effective working relationships with the multi-disciplinary team, medical staff, volunteers and agencies affiliated with the nursing home.Responsible for tracking and monitoring all quality assurance projects.Coordinates and facilitates nursing staff meetings, care conferences, quarterly Quality Assurance meetings, educational programs, in-services and ensuring annual educational requirements for all nursing personnel are met.Manages department budget and appropriate allocation of resources.Works with social service department in pre-admission screening and discharge of residents to ensure ability to provide care.Reviews complaints and responds timely and appropriately in accordance with policy and procedures. Appropriately advances complaints and responses to Executive Director.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Required Qualifications:Associate's Degree in NursingMust be licensed as a Registered Nurse within the state in which working and must maintain licensureThree years of related nursing experienceAbility to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formatsThorough knowledge of Federal and State Regulations, MDS/RAI process, OBRA reimbursements systems, case mix, Medicare Care planning, or the willingness to obtain training in these areasAbility to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulationsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in NursingPrevious experience working with seniors
