Travel RN – Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups, including post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidity patients
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and maintain professional accountability
• Operate and manage unit-specific equipment including Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, drains, EVDs, Nicom, BiPAP, and Airvo
• Float on a rotational basis to the critical care cluster or med/surg as needed
• Maintain compliance with flu vaccination requirements (November 1 – April 1); declinations are not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license eligible for or active in the state of Missouri
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (inpatient only); this unit functions at an intermediate ICU level
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 in a high-acuity intermediate care environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for neuro, trauma, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory distress, and insulin drip patients
• Familiarity with advanced monitoring and respiratory support equipment in a step-down or intermediate ICU setting
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team player in a fast-paced environment
