About the Role Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Agricultural Operations Supervisor to manage the day-to-day activities on their farm in Welkom . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of all farm tasks, from planting and cultivation to harvesting and maintenance. You will lead a team of farmhands, delegate responsibilities, and oversee the proper use and care of agricultural machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in farming operations and possess strong leadership and organizational skills to maintain high levels of productivity and safety on the Free State farm. Key Responsibilities Supervise and direct the work of farm laborers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to plan. Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of farm machinery, vehicles, and equipment. Implement planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting schedules as directed by farm management. Monitor crop growth and health, reporting any issues or concerns to the farm manager promptly. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all staff. Assist with inventory management of seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, and other farm supplies. Requirements Proven experience in agricultural operations, preferably in a supervisory capacity. Solid understanding of farming techniques, crop cycles, and soil management. Experience operating and maintaining various types of farm machinery. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage tasks under pressure.
