2025-2026 School Year TITLE: Mechanic LOCATION: Transportation REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation Job Goal: Coordinates activities to ensure that all district vehicles, including buses are properly maintained. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• NAISE — ASE or Equivalent Nationally Recognized Certification
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assures adequate preventive maintenance procedures and practices are provided
2. Updates maintenance and repair records for all district vehicles
3. Utilizes and updates the Automated Fleet Management System
4. Assists in evaluation and recommendation of major equipment and vehicle replacements
5. Assists in the coordination Annual State Police Bus Inspection
6. Must have the ability to diagnose, repair and make adjustments on all vehicle systems
7. Maintains a thorough knowledge and ability to repair components on all vehicle systems
8. Must have the ability to operate all shop equipment
9. Performs trouble shooting and related repairs on district vehicles 10. Any and all assigned duties

Working Conditions and Physical Environment: Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; hear and understand speech at normal levels; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead.
