Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate

Our client, a well-established law firm with a nationally recognized insolvency and restructuring practice, is seeking a Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its Seattle office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to build a sophisticated practice focused on bankruptcy, insolvency, financial restructuring, and related litigation matters. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced practitioners representing a broad range of stakeholders in complex financial distress situations, both in and out of court.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in corporate bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring matters.
• Advise secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, trustees, committees, landlords, and other stakeholders in insolvency proceedings.
• Support bankruptcy litigation matters, including avoidance actions and related disputes.
• Assist with Chapter 11 cases, receiverships, workouts, and other restructuring transactions.
• Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other court filings.
• Conduct legal research and analyze bankruptcy and insolvency-related issues.
• Participate in court appearances, hearings, and negotiations.
• Collaborate with clients and legal teams to develop practical strategies for distressed situations.
• Assist with asset sales, creditor rights matters, and financial litigation proceedings.

Candidates should have 2+ years of bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, or related litigation experience gained at a law firm or comparable legal environment. Experience with bankruptcy litigation, creditor rights matters, receiverships, and avoidance actions is highly desirable. Candidates with completed bankruptcy court clerkships are strongly encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will possess strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills, along with excellent academic credentials and the ability to manage multiple matters in a collaborative, fast-paced practice. Admission to the Washington Bar is required.

Compensation is expected to range from $235,000 to $265,000.
