Position Overview Matrix Home Care has an immediate need for a licensed Occupational Therapist and a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide private duty therapy services to pediatric and adult patients in the Miami area. These are contract opportunities with flexible schedules based on patient needs, clinician availability, and assigned coverage areas. The ideal candidates will be compassionate, dependable, organized, and comfortable providing one-on-one therapy services in the patient’s home. Occupational Therapist Responsibilities Complete occupational therapy evaluations and reassessments. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician orders. Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions. Evaluate patients’ ability to safely complete daily activities. Recommend adaptive equipment, home modifications, and safety strategies. Educate patients, families, caregivers, and Occupational Therapy Assistants. Supervise the Occupational Therapy Assistant according to applicable regulations and agency policies. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation. Communicate patient progress and changes in condition to the care team. Occupational Therapy Assistant Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Follow the established treatment plan and physician orders. Assist patients with exercises and therapeutic activities designed to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and daily living skills. Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety techniques, and the use of adaptive equipment. Monitor and document patient responses to treatment. Report changes in the patient’s condition or progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Complete required clinical documentation accurately and on time. Follow all agency policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Ability to supervise an Occupational Therapy Assistant as required. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Occupational Therapy Assistant Qualifications Current and active Florida Occupational Therapy Assistant license. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current CPR certification. Previous private duty, home health, pediatric, adult rehabilitation, or community-based therapy experience preferred. Ability to follow an Occupational Therapist’s established plan of care. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Under Florida law, this role is subject to background screening requirements under Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, including fingerprinting and verification of eligibility before providing patient care.
