Exciting Opportunity for RN in the Emergency Room!

Job Description:


- Contract Duration : 13 weeks
- Shift : 09:00 AM - 09:00 PM
- No On Call Requirements

Unit Information:


- Location : South Austin
- Building : South Austin Medical Center
- Floor : 1

Unit Highlights:


- Number of Beds : 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track, 5 behavioral health
- Total Staff : 111

Team Composition :

- Day Shift : Charge RN + 11, additional mid-shifts (9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM), 2 PCTs, 1 Paramedic, 1 LPN
- Night Shift : Same as Day Shift

Patient Ratios :

- ED: 1:4
- Behavioral Health: 1:5
- Cardiac/Trauma: 1:3

Equipment :

- Alaris pumps
- Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers
- Stryker stretchers

Permanent Positions on Unit : Yes

Qualification Requirements :

- Must Have :
- ACLS
- BLS
- ENPC
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- Preferred Skills :
- Meditech experience
- Trauma experience
- Inpatient experience
- CPI training

Typical Procedures Performed :

- Splinting
- EKGs
- Central monitoring
- Trauma assists
- Central lines
- Airway support
- Behavioral health de-escalation
- Morgan lens use
- Rapid infuser
- Resuscitation
