Overview As a Fiber Splicing Foreman at Ervin Cable Construction, LLC, you’ll oversee the fusion of optical fibers to sustain and enhance our telecommunication networks. Your expertise in fiber splicing is crucial for maintaining robust and reliable connections, ensuring seamless data transmission across our expanding network. You\'ll serve as the on-site expert, offering guidance and support to less experienced team members. What You’ll Do Safely perform fiber splicing, troubleshooting, and testing both aerial and underground Repair out-of-service drops or cable cuts as necessary Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards Splice fiber cable for underground transfers and help with light laborer duties Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records Oversee and guide other onsite workers to ensure tasks are done safely and correctly Other duties as assigned What You’ll Need To be 18 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience Valid State driver\'s license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card At least 4 years of experience splicing, placing, and testing fiber strands Additional Qualifications Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred Knowledge of telecommunications network structure Physical Abilities & Exposures Routinely: work at heights, in confined spaces and alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles, keyboard, and mouse Benefits Weekly Paychecks Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, and Holidays Insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance) 401(k) w/ Company Match Stock Purchase Plan Education Reimbursement Legal Insurance Discounts on gym memberships, pet insurance, and much more Equal Opportunity Our company is an equal-opportunity employer — we are committed to providing a work environment where everyone can thrive, grow, and feel connected.
