Clinical Nurse II: M5 Vascular Surgery - 36hrs/week, Nights

Position Details Department/Unit: Vascular Surgery – M5 Night Shift (United States). Salary Range: $83,200.00 – $93,184.00. Job Overview Registered Nurse for the Vascular Surgery Unit (Night shift) at Albany Med Health System. Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments and procedures, and documenting care. The RN evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries, collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care, and directs ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards. Responsibilities Implements physician orders and administers medications. Starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and special tests. Documents treatment as required by company policy and applicable regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions. Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care rendered. Applies sound nursing judgment in care management decisions. Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care. Directs and guides ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Qualifications Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree). Current New York State Registered Nurse license. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Minimum of 1–3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med‑Surg or Progressive Care. Excellent communication, prioritization, organization, and time‑management skills. Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem‑solving tools and techniques; ability to apply them to support departmental and patient care quality improvement.
