Job Title: Clean Room Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Clean Room Assembly Technician performs electronic assembly work on medical device circuit boards in a clean, quiet, air-conditioned production environment. This role involves standing at a pneumatic assembly line, working with small components, following detailed job sheets, and operating or supporting SMT and testing equipment, depending on the operator level.

Responsibilities

• Stand for the full shift at a pneumatic-powered assembly and shuttle line while performing electronic assembly tasks.
• Work with circuit boards and various hardware that are moved into position by the pneumatic shuttle system.
• Read and follow job sheets that clearly explain which parts to use and where each component must be placed on the circuit boards.
• Select dime- and quarter-sized pieces from bins and accurately hand-place them into circuit boards.
• As Operator A, stand at a workstation and place very small parts, such as push-tack-sized components, onto circuit boards with precision.
• As Operator B, operate SMT (surface-mount technology) machines or run testing machines on finished boards to ensure proper functionality.
• As Operator C, perform soldering work throughout the shift on circuit boards and related components.
• Handle small parts with consistent accuracy, using good hand dexterity to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Follow clean room standards and static/electric-safe procedures at all times while working on the production floor.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient, ergonomic workflow and meet production targets.
• Be available to work Saturdays as needed to support production demands.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a production or manufacturing environment for Operator A.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience as a CNC operator, SMT operator, PCBA operator, wire harness technician, solderer, electronics repair or assembly worker, wire puller, or in automotive electrical work for Operator B.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience as a solderer for Operator C.
• Demonstrated ability to work with very small parts and maintain good hand dexterity.
• Ability to read and understand job sheets and follow detailed written instructions.
• Stable work history in a production or manufacturing role, with recent positions of at least one year where possible.
• Willingness and ability to work Saturdays as needed.
• Comfort with standing for the entire shift in front of an assembly line.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in electronic assembly or medical device assembly.
• Experience in wire harness work, CNC operations, SMT operations, PCBA operations, or welding.
• Experience running testing machines on finished electronic boards.
• Familiarity with static/electric-safe standards and clean room practices.
• Ability to follow ergonomic work practices and maintain a steady, efficient pace.
• Prior experience in environments where components are moved by pallet jacks rather than forklifts.

Work Environment

The entire production floor is clean room rated, meeting strict cleanliness and static/electric-safe standards suitable for medical device electronics. The environment is very quiet, with materials moved by pallet jacks instead of forklifts, reducing noise and congestion. The facility is fully air conditioned, providing a comfortable climate throughout the year. Work is designed to be extremely ergonomic and straightforward, with operators standing at pneumatic-powered assembly and shuttle lines and using small components at organized workstations. Multiple shifts are available, including first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with the expectation of Saturday work as needed to meet production demands.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holly, MI.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
