Registered Nurse

ICU RNCertifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS & TNCC / TCAR / or experience with the care of trauma patients. No clinical involvement fit testing / facial hair. If a clinician for this facility has facial hair, they will be required to pass the either the Primary or Secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 sm or reg/3M 1870+). If unable to pass - A Portacount test would be required, which CANNOT be completed on clinicians with facial hair & PAPR CANNOT be completed on site solely due to failing because of facial hair - contract would be canceled if facial hair cannot be removed.Number of Beds: 4. Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 depending on acuity. Common diagnoses/Types of patients: DKA, sepsis pts, respiratory failure, cardiac (rate and rhythm control), medical detox, art lines, CVP. Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Those typical to an ICU. Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? No - ER is in charge of ICU. Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? No. RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? Nasal cannula to vent. Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? RN required to read and interpret.Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7 // director makes schedule. Weekend Requirements: Will work where there is a need. Holiday Requirements: Will work where there is a need. Floating Requirements: MS or ER (for 1:1). Scrub Color: Navy. How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 3- 12 hour shifts. Additional Notes: Attributes that make a nurse successful in this unit include coachability, motivation, ability to understand and coach unsafe situations, and teamwork. Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
