Production Lead

Join the Casper's Ice Cream team as a Production Lead and play a key role in keeping our weekend production running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will provide hands-on leadership to Line Workers, support the Shift Supervisor, and serve as the go-to lead across multiple departments on the weekend shift. The Production Lead oversees all flex employees on the weekend shift, managing and assigning the flex crew where they are needed most across departments. This role requires strong cross-functional communication and the ability to move fluidly between departments to keep operations on track. When the line needs it, the Production Lead steps in and makes product alongside the team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all flex employees on the weekend shift - manage, assign, and redirect the flex crew across departments as needed

• Serve, assist, and train Line Workers in completing job responsibilities

• Fill in on the production line to make product when needed

• Lead by example in following all safety, GMP, quality, and company policies

• Fill in for Line Workers during rotations, lunches, absences, and as needed

• Assist the Shift Supervisor with delegating responsibilities, coordinating staffing, start up and shut down, line cleaning, lean 5S efforts, and communication with other departments

• Transport materials and ingredients from the warehouse or staging areas into production and ensure equipment is properly stocked

• Weigh and measure mix, flavors, inclusions, and other ingredients

• Operate process room equipment and perform basic mechanical repairs

• Perform advanced troubleshooting on equipment and escalate to maintenance when needed

• Complete hourly quality checks with Line Workers

• Lead end of day team meetings

• Communicate, implement, and enforce all company policies

• Communicate with other shifts to support smooth transitions

• Complete data entry and inventory reporting in ERP software

• Support a positive culture that improves morale and engagement

• Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule

• Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - Weekend Day Shift

• 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM

• Steady schedule - no rotating shifts

• Enjoy 4 days off every week

Compensation

• $23.00/hr. to start ($21.00 base + $2.00 weekend day shift differential)

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple departments

• Strong communication skills - verbal and written

• Ability to lead by example and hold others accountable

• Reliable attendance for a fixed weekend schedule

• Team members may also be called upon to support production or other departments as needed

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of lead experience in a production or manufacturing environment required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift

• Ability to walk, bend, squat, and climb stairs as required

• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds from floor to chest height multiple times per shift

• Ability to perform repetitive motions using shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers

• This position may require working at heights when performing cleaning duties

Work Environment

• Work performed in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and moving equipment

• This role involves working around industrial machinery and may include exposure to electromagnetic fields generated by production equipment

• Exposure to food allergens, including peanuts and tree nuts - including contact with skins, oils, and dust generated during processing and grinding
