Position Title: Facilities Community Relations Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator/Engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the successful planning and execution of electrical projects.

Salary Range: $83,000 - $90,000

Location: Onsite (Los Angeles, CA)

Type: Full-Time

Position: Facilities Community Relations Specialist

Essential Job Duties

• 9.1 Identify, contact, and work with the different sectors of the community, school administrators, and
  the offices of elected officials, legislators, Local District Superintendents and regulatory
  agencies to engage them in the process of construction projects, as well as programs and
  initiatives of the Facilities Services Division and to notify them of community meetings and
  events.
  9.2 Implement community outreach strategic plans for assigned projects.
  9.3 Schedule, coordinate, organize, and attend outreach activities such as community meetings and
  events throughout the District to engage and inform the community regarding the Facilities Services
  Division's construction projects, programs and initiatives.
  9.4 Inform and engage the community on the school construction process including site selection,
  California Environmental Quality Act and Environmental Protection Agency policies and procedures,
  acquisition and relocation, and design and construction issues.
  9.5 Provide information and written reports to Community Relations supervisors for presentations
  before the Board of Education, Bond Oversight Committee and other stakeholders.
  9.6 Lead and coordinate the efforts of various planning committee stakeholders for special events
  such as groundbreaking, ribbon cutting, and school openings, for the purpose of coordinating
  resources and monitoring event expenditures.
  9.7 Develop and maintain project files and contact databases for assigned projects.
  9.8 Provides information to District personnel, community groups, business and trade
  organizations, education agencies, and the public concerning the procurement policies and
  procedures applicable to the Los Angeles Unified School District's Procurement Services and the
  Facilities Services Division.
  9.9 Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Education
  10.1 Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in public
  relations, community relations, urban planning, business administration, public administration or
  related field. OR
  10.2 Candidates who do not meet the education requirement may compensate for experience on a year-
  for-year basis for up to 2 years.
  Experience
  10.3 Minimum of four (4) years full time paid professional experience in a public or private agency
  related to performing community outreach activities, organizing outreach campaigns, and conducting
  field work for community-based organizations and groups.
  Knowledge/Skills
  10.4 Knowledge of public relations principles, current community issues and local government
  structures
  10.5 Excellent communication skills
  10.6 Public relations principles
  10.7 Assimilating information from various sources
  10.8 Working effectively with various diverse groups
  10.9 Compliance and Collaboration
  10.10 Detail-oriented and designs promotional materials
  10.11 Prepare presentations
  10.12 A valid California Driver's License for us of an automobile as travelling will be required
