Insurance Agent Trainee

Location: Hammond, Louisiana Role Overview Life Insurance Sales Agent – full‑time field role with benefits. Kemper is a leading specialized insurer focused on serving modest‑income families. The agent conducts personal home visits to collect premiums, conduct sales of new policies, and address service needs. Career and Opportunity New, unlicensed agents begin with a paid training period that includes study tools and guidance to pass licensing exams. Once licensed, agents receive an existing book of business – a portfolio of current customers – and earn a percentage of collected premiums plus commissions on new sales. Performance is unlimited; higher income comes with additional sales and performance awards. Prospect for new sales opportunities. Maintain strong customer relationships by collecting premiums on a pre‑arranged schedule. Respond promptly to service requests such as beneficiary changes, claims, and loans. Record keeping, accounting for money collected, and processing policy paperwork. Agent Expectations Grow the assigned territory through new sales. Build strong working relationships with customers. Devote the time necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Pursue continuous professional development in insurance products and sales effectiveness. Qualifications Customer service experience. At least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license with required auto insurance coverage. Dependable vehicle for daily travel. Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening. Authorization to work in the United States. Preparation & Training We provide free access to study tools and guidance to prepare for licensing exams. New agents complete an onboarding development program that includes self‑study, classroom instruction, and field mentoring. On‑the‑job training allows agents to earn a paycheck while learning the profession through hands‑on experience.
