Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) will work under the direction of the Wound Care Center Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator, providing direct patient care for Wound Care Center patients. Responsibilities include handling patient intake and discharge processes, performing nursing assessments, and managing care plans. The RN may also serve as a Case Manager for assigned patients and support specialized therapy services as required. Responsibilities Provide patient care to Wound Care Center patients and manage patient intake and discharge processes. Assist in the vein clinic after completing the Healogics Vein Clinic training. Perform initial nursing assessment, communicate findings with the assigned physician, assess wound stage and measurements, document care plans, evaluate patient status, and identify situations requiring intervention. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide education to patients or caregivers. Act as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of care. Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) related duties upon completion of the Healogics hyperbaric training. May serve as hyperbaric safety director after completing the required training. Collaborate with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center providers, the Program Director, and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs. Function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) as per Healogics policy. Perform other duties as required. Education & Credentials ADN in Nursing (required). Current RN license in the state of practice; license must be maintained throughout employment. BSN preferred. Certification in Medical Surgical, Home Health, or Wound Care preferred. Wound care experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Competency in Basic Life Support (BLS). Strong organization, prioritization, and time‑management skills. Basic knowledge of regulatory and accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations. Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills; ability to translate complex technical terms into laypersons’ language. Customer service and follow‑up skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Teaching skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks. Teamwork and collaboration abilities. Ability to remain calm in all situations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems. Physical Demands Stationary position for extended periods (4+ hours). Repetitive motions, moving, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, touching. Reading, writing, and communicating. Detecting sounds by ear; close, distance, and peripheral vision. Travel distances (car, airplane, etc.). Color perception. Lifting or moving items up to 20 pounds; lifting or moving items up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance. Keying frequently on a computer for 4+ hours. Work Environment Normal office environment. Exposure to mechanical equipment and electrical current. Patient care environment. Proximity to moving objects. Exposure to hazards (blood‑borne pathogens, body fluids, toxic chemicals, flammable explosive gases, etc.).
