We connect people with products throughout the world.ResponsibilitiesProvides customer services including forwarding, delivery details, processing orders, handling complaints or general assignment as defined by the department or branch. In some offices and/or branches customer service staff may act as assistants to the sales staff.Customer inquiry response and researchBusiness support including bookings, board tracking, maintaining work profiles and ratesRespond to customer inquiries or requests through direct contact via telephone and email as well as drop by at the front doorCommunicate with internal and/or external sources to secure informationGeneral business support function as assigned includes on board tracking with carriers. Making booking as necessary with carriers and advising flight information to the clients.Update and maintain work profiles and rates per management's updated informationHandle other job assignments as determined by the direct supervisorWork Schedule is Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm. Must be flexible to meet business demandsHourly Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00/ hour This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At NEU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.QualificationsMinimum 2-year experience in a Customer Service roleMinimum 2-year experience in a freight forwarding or similar industryStrong teamwork skills and inclinationGood communications skill – listening, providing and receiving feedbackProcess improvementPatience – ability to deal with complex processes that may involve multiple levels of approvalHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant or appropriate working experience. Some college desirable.Strong quantitative and analytical skillsStrong computer and analytical skills – Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and ExcelBilingual English / Japanese a plus.
