Registered Nurse

Job TitleSchedule6:30pm-6:30am - Full-time. Candidates must be willing to work the block schedule as outlined in the provided attachments.ResponsibilitiesAdminister medications and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of the license.Receive and deliver information regarding residents' medical, social, functional, and other needs.Participate in the receiving and giving of shift reports.Communicate with residents, family, and staff to ensure appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team.Perform initial admission nursing assessments for newly admitted residents and assist with the development of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans.Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment, and summary of client progress.Lead and supervise subordinate staff and assist as needed with direct resident care, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility.Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs.Utilize AMS concepts and tools for problem-solving and continuous work/process improvements and efficiency.Other duties as assigned, related to the position.Knowledge and SkillsUnderstanding of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practices.Awareness of residents' conditions and changing medical/physical/psychological care needs.Knowledge of the effects of the aging process.Familiarity with team nursing practices and procedures.Experience in developing treatment plans for resident/patient care.Knowledge of pharmacology and medicines, including federal, state, and agency laws, rules, and regulations.Proficiency in professional nursing methods and techniques.Ability to observe and assess patient behavior and progress.Skill in applying and interpreting state and agency laws and regulations governing geriatric nursing practices.Capability to develop and carry out patient care plans within a team nursing concept.Effective oral and written communication skills.Ability to build interpersonal relationships.Ability to learn, implement, and monitor AMS methods for problem-solving and process improvement.Selective PreferencesOpen to recent graduates and those with less than 1 year of experience in skilled nursing.Preference for candidates with facility or long-term care experience.
