Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the church's outdoor areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members, visitors, and community events. This role supports the overall mission of the church by caring for the physical appearance of the property.Job ResponsibilitiesMaintain lawns, gardens, trees, and landscaping (mowing, trimming, edging, watering)Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and seasonal plantsRemove weeds, leaves, debris, and trash from all outdoor areasMaintain walkways, parking lots, and entrances (sweeping, pressure washing, minor repairs)Assist with snow and ice removal during winter monthsOperate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)Monitor irrigation systems and report issuesHelp set up and tear down for outdoor church events or servicesEnsure grounds are safe and hazard-free (e.g., fallen branches, uneven surfaces)Report maintenance needs or safety concerns to church leadershipJob RequirementsPrior experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferredAbility to operate basic landscaping equipmentPhysical ability to lift, bend, walk, and work outdoors in various weather conditionsBasic knowledge of plants, lawn care, and seasonal maintenanceDependable, self-motivated, and detail-orientedThe Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
