This role is critical to designing, implementing, securing, and operating modern cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines that support highly available, secure, and scalable applications.The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across Azure services, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices, while also excelling in fast-paced, critical situations. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, take ownership of challenges end-to-end, and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.What You'll Do: Azure Cloud EngineeringDesign, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using best practices for scalability, reliability, and securityManage and optimize Azure services including (but not limited to):App Services, Function Apps, Web Apps, App Service EnvironmentsAzure Networking (VNETs, NSGs, firewalls, private endpoints)Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Key Vault, App Insights, MonitorImplement and enforce security controls, governance policies, and platform standardsSystems Engineering & AdministrationMaintain and troubleshoot enterprise-class systems, networks, and virtualized environments.Document cloud and network architectures, procedures, and environment configurations.Collaborate with Engineering and Database teams to ensure reliable, secure, scalable systems.Infrastructure as Code & Configuration ManagementAuthor, maintain, and version infrastructure using Bicep (preferred), Azure DevOps, GitHub ActionsEnsure infrastructure deployments are repeatable, auditable, and environment‑consistentReview and improve existing IaC patterns for reliability and maintainabilityCI/CD & Source ControlDesign, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with an emphasis on automation, reliability, and securityWork with GitHub repositories, branching strategies, and pull request workflowsPartner with engineering teams to improve build, test, deployment, and release processesSupport pipeline modernization initiatives (e.g., YAML pipelines, GitHub Actions, deployment standards)Operations, Monitoring & TroubleshootingMonitor system health, performance, and reliability using Azure-native toolsLead troubleshooting efforts during production incidents, outages, and critical escalationsIdentify root causes and drive long-term remediation, not just tactical fixesParticipate in operational reviews and continuous improvement initiativesCollaboration & CommunicationWork closely with Engineering, Security, DevOps, DBA, and Infrastructure teamsTranslate technical concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholdersContribute to documentation, runbooks, architectural decisions, and best practicesAct as a technical leader and trusted advisor within the organizationOperational ExcellencePerform advanced troubleshooting using industry-standard tools.Provide accurate time estimates for tasks and follow through to complete resolution.Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.Remain self-directed, detail‑oriented, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.Quickly learn new technologies through self-study and hands-on experimentation.Basic Requirements: Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.4+ years’ experience building cloud solutions and supporting cloud applications3+ years of experience in Azure focused roleOperations, Monitoring & TroubleshootingMonitor system health, performance, and reliability using Azure-native toolsLead troubleshooting efforts during production incidents, outages, and critical escalationsIdentify root causes and drive long-term remediation, not just tactical fixesParticipate in operational reviews and continuous improvement initiativesExperience with large-scale or enterprise Azure environmentsFamiliarity with regulated environments or compliance-led organizationsExperience mentoring or guiding engineers on DevOps best practicesPreferred Skills/Experience:Excellent communication (written and verbal) skillsExperience with KQL (Kusto Query Language)Experience with Powershell and other scripting languagesExperience working in healthcare environments (plus).Ability to work effectively in team and cross-functional project settings.Up to 10% travel nationwide.We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
