RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.
Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PACU
Job Details:
• Provide pre-operative, Phase I and Phase II recovery care for pediatric and adult patients
• Must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed
• Care for patients from all major surgical services across 34 operating rooms on 2 floors
• Support patients undergoing regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
• Work with special equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein
• Maintain 1:2 patient ratio
• Work 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract
• Complete 48 hours of orientation
• Must have 2 years of experience in specialty
• PACU or Pre/Post Op experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS (AHA certifications required)
• Louisiana license or compact license required upon submittal
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Strict no call-in policy
• May be assigned to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to stay until event passes

This major medical center operates a comprehensive surgical department with 34 operating rooms across two floors, serving both pediatric and adult populations. The facility provides pre and post-operative care for a wide range of surgical and procedural services, including endoscopy, interventional radiology, and pulmonary lab procedures. The medical center maintains high-volume operations and offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services.
