Construction Safety Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 1 year (Start: 6/1)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Hourly Rate: $52/hr (Local) $49 (non-local)
Per Diem: $125/Day on seven days
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 10-hour per-day shift.

The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety for the New build manufacturing facility for the energy owner, focused on transformer and substation equipment production. The project is in the early steel phase. The candidate will provide field safety support and work closely with both GC and ownership.

• OSHA 30

• 5+ years of field construction safety experience

• Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across multiple project sites

• Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions

• Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires

• Partner with project management and field teams to identify and mitigate safety risks proactively

• Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, and compliance records

• Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements

• Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project team

Skills:

• Strong communication and public speaking abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities

• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

• High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of EHS principles and construction safety regulations

• Ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards and best practices

• Familiarity with mechanical construction safety, particularly underground piping operations
